This Homemade Toothache Remedies Can Save Your Day

Have you ever lost your sleep because of your toothache? You’re definitely not alone. Your head pounds, and your mouth is sore- enough to call your dentist. In the meantime, there are some of the tricks you should try. It can not be a cure, and you can’t make your pain magically disappear, but it’s a temporary relief until you can get to your dentist. Try with some of these natural homemade toothache remedies:

  • Ice Pack

This trick could help you if your gums and mouth are swollen. It’s entirely normal after any dental intervention, and it’s a part of the recovery process. Just put an ice pack on your cheek and hold it for 10 minutes. It could take the pain and swell away.

  • Saltwater

Heat a cup of water and put a few tablespoons of salt in it. It’s essential to use warm water to dissolve the salt better. This way, you can make a natural disinfectant. Before your dental appointment, swish warm salt water around your mouth and spit it out. This mixture can heal swelling and clean infections.

  • Ginger

When having a toothache, fresh ginger could be a great solution. Wash and peel a small piece of fresh ginger. Then, start chewing it slowly around the affected area. Its juices contain antibacterial properties, which can help you regulate bacteria levels in your mouth, and it’s also helpful with the pain.

  • Oils

Tea tree oil is maybe the most popular, and it has wide use. Mainly, it’s used as a natural way of pain-reducing, especially for toothache. It has antibiotic and antibacterial properties.

Peppermint oil is excellent for calming the inflammation process down, as well as clove oil. It contains eugenol, also found in cinnamon. You need to rub your gums with it or soak the cotton ball and apply it to the painful area for a few minutes.

  • Garlic

You may already know that garlic has a lot of medicinal benefits and wide use. Even if it has an unpleasant smell for some people, it’s actually an excellent cure for toothache. Also, some scientists say that consuming garlic could help to build better immunity. Just chew a piece of raw garlic or apply crushed garlic to the affected area. It would help you with swelling and killing bacteria.

  • Vanilla Extract

It’s not scientifically proven that vanilla extract can cure a toothache, but you can try anyway. One of the ingredients is alcohol that can numb the mouth tissues and eugenol, which we mentioned earlier when we talked about pain relievers. Before buying, make sure to read the user guide and ingredients. Put a few drops on a cotton and apply them on the gums around the affected area. Hold it there for 5-10 minutes, but not too long, because it can irritate your gums.

How to Prevent Toothaches?

Maybe the first thing people notice is a smile, and having the perfect one is not that hard at all.
